Colleen Christina Photography | Our Oregon Coast Experience

In September of 2013 my husband and I were fortunate enough to travel to Oregon. We had been to Oregon several years ago, but this time we took a few nights to stay along the Oregon coast! It’s a breathtaking place! The scenery, the air, the smells, the food and the people is what really captivates you. As a photographer, I was in 7th heaven!! The trees are mossy and have the neatest appearance. When you drive up the mountains there is fog that almost seems mystical. I seriously kept thinking trolls lived in those woods. While up in the mountains you breathe in such awesome air. It smelled so earthy, almost like a moist dirt. I was also so amazed how the climate changed every 10 miles or so. Sometimes we would have a cold foggy day at our hotel and then we’d travel maybe 10 miles and it would be sunny and warm. I have never been to a place like the Oregon Coast before. It’s probably the polar opposite of Minneapolis, which is flat and generally cold 75% of the year.

My Nana lives near Medford, OR and she describes it as “Tuscany”. Between the vineyards, the climate and the views, I can believe it. We had such a great time exploring and relaxing. It was out first trip away from our daughter, which I thought was going to be impossible. When I got there, I stopped worrying and started enjoying what I was surrounded by! If you have never been, you should see what you’re missing!

The first batch of photos were taken at 2 vineyards near Medford. The rest are our Coastal experience.

colleenchristinaphotography@gmail.com - Thanks Gina! I can’t wait to get back there sometime soon!

Gina Gandee - Great pics Colleen! The Oregon coast is truly an awesome place. I only live 2 hours away and can’t get enough of it! You described it perfectly. 🙂 🙂
